‘Pedro Takes a Siesta'
Mandalorian S3E2 & Last of Us S1E7 Review

Today we’re discussing the Last of Us Episode 7, and how Pedro’s character of Joel takes a little break. Then we’re jumping over to the Mandalorian S3E2 and how Pedro’s character of Mando takes a little break. It’s siesta week for Pedro!
Mandalorian: Bo Katan & Grogu Take the Stage
What may possibly be the first time for the show, Mandalorian takes a step back from the action to let Bo Katan and Grogu shine. In this episode we see both of those characters get amazing action set pieces; Grogu fights some mutant monsters and flies the Starship, while Bo Katan uses the Dark Saber with such finesse and skill it would make a Jedi blush.
This isn’t to say Mando does nothing; just that his role in this episode is to let others shine; and shine they do. I really can’t get over how badass Bo Katan is and looks in this episode. She struts around like a cowgirl, yet has all the posture of a queen. If ever there was a “female Mando”, it would be Bo Katan. It really makes me excited for the future of where these two characters will go. And, because I was at the red carpet of the Mandalorian, I can share with you a secret!
In between Episode 1 and 2, Pedro got on the mic and said, “I can’t wait for you to see what she does to me.” Which immediately got Dave Filoni, the writer and producer of the Mandalorian to shout, “NAH NAH NAH NAH! NO! NO!”
Will we see Bo fight Mando for the Saber? I guess we’ll just wait and see!
The Last of Us: Ellie Takes the Stage
Now I’ll admit, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Episode 6. I loved the romance between the two characters of Ellie and Riley, I just though the pacing of the episode was SLOW. Way too slow. This episode, however, was perfectly paced and ended with a violent and heart wrenching moment. It was violent, cruel, and yet only a short moment later we get one of if not the most beautiful moment in the entire show: Joel embracing Ellie like she was his daughter and uttering the line, “It’s okay Baby girl, I got you”.
God- way to make a million people cry. And to Joel’s credit, the few times he does do something in this episode… he is VIOLENT. And, since Ellie has shown her violent side, I guess the two really a perfect daddy daughter match! Violent and cruel to those who dare get in their way.
There’s only one more episode of the Last of Us and I gotta say- I am excited and sad and can’t wait for Season 2!
